Sports & Activities

Since being established in 1995, the ISD Lions teams have been competing in tournaments between schools in Düsseldorf and wider Europe. Joining the Lions allows a student athlete to improve physically, learn team-building skills and develop socially. The Lions participate in NECIS and ISST, two large inter-school international tournaments, while the NRW City Championships and the ISD Sportverein allow our athletes to compete against other students of their age group from across Düsseldorf and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Our After-School Activities (ASAs) groups are centered around a shared interest and meet outside of school time to develop in an environment free of formal competition.

Join the Lions Club

The ISD Lions Club is the parent volunteer organisation dedicated to supporting the ISD Lions sports programme through fundraising and community projects such as the Fields and Gym Snack Bars, and the NECIS/ISST Awards Dinners. The ISD Lions Club is always in need of enthusiastic parents who can help purchase supplies, coordinate and organise the Snack Bars and Awards Dinners, and work on Tournament Committees.  If you enjoy sports and would like to show your Lions pride –  come join our team!
